A Concert in the Spirit of the Season: Elizabeth Borowsky, Family, and Friends
And, Northern Stage adds an additional performance of “A Christmas Carol”

It started off as a simple concert as a gift (no charge) to the Upper Valley to celebrate the holidays. Now the number of performers is in the double digits, and a professional ice sculptor is involved.
Elizabeth Borowsky is a local pianist whose talents span music venues and organizations in the UV. She’s the VP of Classicopia, teaches piano (Piano Prodigies), and has worked with Dartmouth’s Opera Lab and Glee Club. In addition, she tours the world giving concerts as part of The American Virtuosi, a group that includes her parents and her siblings (photo, above). They’ve played in dozens of countries around the globe, including Cuba and China.

Searching for a meaningful way to mark the season, Elizabeth had the idea for a free concert for the Upper Valley featuring her visiting parents and siblings (“it's rare that we're all here at the same time!”). She mentioned it to a few friends and before long other area performers and musical families had volunteered to join in. The program will feature “a mix of classical selections, traditional carols, and contemporary holiday tunes.” She says:
“The concert has come together quickly over the past couple weeks and now includes an additional 17 local musicians. Quite a few of the selections will be a mix of performers, e.g. my brother will solo for Vivaldi's "Winter" with an orchestra primarily comprised of young Upper Valley string players. That same performance will include a video of beautiful Upper Valley winter scenery taken by drone photographer/videographer William Daugherty.”
The ice sculptor is award-winning local artist Tony Perham. During the afternoon of December 23, he will be transforming a block of ice into a sculpture of “an angel with a harp, more weatherproof than a trumpet, apparently.”) Passersby are invited to take a look.
The concert is scheduled for Saturday, December 23 at 7pm at First Congregational Church in Lebanon, NH. Admission is FREE, and all (voluntary) contributions will benefit The Upper Valley Haven.
“May the music, shared freely with sincere intentions and heartfelt emotions, fill your soul with warmth and joy and may you be inspired to spread kindness and generosity to those around you this holiday season.”—Elizabeth Borowsky
