Dartmouth College has announced that Sian Leah Beilock will become its next President, effective July 1, 2023.
Beilock is a cognitive scientist and the current and 8th president of Barnard College. It is the first time in the 250-year history of Dartmouth College that a woman has been selected to serve as its President. She is 46 years old.
In a statement released to the community, President-elect Beilock said she is “proud, grateful, and optimistic.”
Her Wikipedia page was updated immediately to reflect her new position. For more information about her, you can access it here. And here is a link to a TED talk she gave in 2017 about anxiety and learning.
