Start Dancing—LOH Nexus Music and Arts Festival Opens This Friday
Grammy-nominated singer Joan Osborne (One of Us) headlines this Friday night, August 9, (8:00 pm) at the annual Nexus Music and Arts Festival in Lebanon, New Hampshire. There is probably not a single one among us who would deny the truth in one of Joan’s songs when she observes: “I Should’ve Danced More.” Indeed. Click below to let her explain it further. It will make your day better. Its rhythms will fill you with resolve.
In celebration of Lebanon Opera House's 100th birthday, the popular Nexus Music and Arts Festival -- the centerpiece of LOH on Location programming -- is bigger than ever.
This year, the FREE three-day celebration (Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11) in downtown Lebanon includes an exciting line-up of blues, rock, funk, soul, jazz, and folk – plus the sounds of West Africa and Québec. There's an African dance workshop, a fast-paced physical theater show **, music for children, and performances by many of the talented young people in our community. Three stages. Twenty performances. Endless FREE fun.—from Lebanon Opera House.
What if it rains, says the lawyer in me. (Lawyers are professional “what if” people.) While all events are free, the rain venue—Lebanon Opera House—may not have sufficient capacity for everyone who wants to see the six main stage performances. While hoping that the festival history of clement weather and outdoor performances continues, LOH is also offering “rain insurance” for a fee.
**Voloz Collective, previewed on Artful (click here) last week, will be on the Lebanon Green on Sunday, August 11 at 3:00 pm with a sample of their energetic talent. One Artful reader who caught their performance last weekend at Woodstock Town Hall described it as “ a display of amazing physical agility and humor.”
