Salt Hill Pub in downtown Lebanon was serving lunch outdoors at its tables on the pedestrian mall on Thursday afternoon as temperatures climbed into the 60s. Its tent around the corner on West Park Street is up, with service to start soon. Likewise, Three Tomatoes Trattoria plans outdoor service on its patio and under its Court Street tent beginning on Friday, April 8.

Colburn Park is closed for repairs. The city is replacing the walkways that lead to and from the central fountain. The new picnic tables and benches are sunning themselves, empty of the bodies that will occupy them when the park reopens in a month or so. Parents and toddlers who are looking for a playground experience are being directed to the nearby CCB.

Spring seems to have burst forth once more with its characteristic sense of renewal. Lebanon Public Library renovations continue, resulting in the relocation of the contactless pickup shed from the side to the front of the library.

As for the continuing downtown tunnel project, I was about to confess my ignorance of its progress beyond what I could see, when I discovered this official City of Lebanon Tunnel Rehabilitation page. Click to see maps, photos, what’s been completed and what remains. You can even subscribe to receive an alert when new info is added.
